Yellow box junction markings have been applied at seven of the most complex intersections in Nizhny Novgorod; drivers simply call them box junctions. This was reported by Nizhny Novgorod Online.
The yellow diamond pattern indicates that entering this intersection is prohibited if traffic congestion has formed ahead. If a vehicle enters such markings and obstructs other traffic, the violation will be recorded by a traffic camera, and the driver will have to pay a fine.
However, there are exceptions: entering a box junction is permitted when turning right or left.
