Blue road markings have appeared on the streets of Rostov. This was reported by the Vesyolovskiye Vesti newspaper.
The unusual color warns drivers that they are in a paid parking zone. Previously, vehicle owners sometimes failed to notice warning road signs, parked without paying, and received fines. Now it will be difficult to make a mistake. Free parking spaces continue to be marked with white road markings.
A blue line along paid parking areas is stipulated by Clause 6.2.9 of GOST R 52289-2019. The standard was developed by the Russian Road Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport of Russia.
Incidentally, Rostov is not the first city to use such markings. They are present in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and other major cities.
